Fitness and Recovery Video - My name is Angela Robinson, I am a fitness instructor and a personal trainer for Wayne State University. I was a fitness instructor first for about seven years and then personal training for about three years. I've been an LPN since the late 80s, early 90s. I worked for Beaumont Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital and then I decided to make a change around 2014 and Incorporate personal training through my own personal journey. I've lost 140 pounds, and I'm very passionate. I found my purpose. I think it should be important to all of us because we should have… actually deals with self-worth. You should want more out of yourself. You should want more balance in life and you should want to reach your goals and your levels. To have people make a change in their life as far as alcoholism. First of all, we have to be accountable for what is going on in our lives and once we have that accountability, we have to be ready for this change, you know It can counteract as we was using that for substance. We can use our physical activity as a substance. I try to motivate people to engage in fitness activities and training by being an example if we show people that we can do it and I tell my share my story with people about I've done it I feel like they're motivated to do it themselves and when we set the tone for the mind to do something different the body will follow. So that's why you can when you're doing substance abuse. You have to have another go to another avenue another out. So we try to use physical activity as that other out. When someone wants to stop they have to be ready. They have to definitely know that they're ready. Once they know that they ready you have to let them know that you're ready that you on the side you in embrace… embracing their journey and you're ready to take this walk with them. From my perspective as far as alcoholism goes I would like to encourage people to know that they worth it. They worth the struggle of getting better. I would like to for them to know we all have been through something and once we get on a different page or have different goals or set different form of advances for ourselves. I feel like we all can do it. I feel like we can all do anything You just have to be ready for the journey.
